My students aren't just learning about history in class - they are also learning about how history connects to our life today through current events and global awareness. This is why I am requesting political and physical maps of the United States and the world to hang on the walls in our classroom. My goal is to help students realize that they are important and they can make a difference for good in our world. This is where maps come in handy! Being able to see how big the world is and learn about what is happening in different countries is VERY helpful in teaching students to look outside themselves and be kind to others!
