Have you ever seen the power of technology? As a teacher you learn the power of technology and it's importance. My students come from low income households and don't always have technology at home. All students that are in my class have special needs and are struggling with something within the academic/school setting. My class is where they learn at their level, improve social skills, and build confidence. These Chromebooks would give them more opportunities for them overall. Technology is engaging and exciting to students. When something is difficult for them, they are more likely to try harder or learn new things when integrating technology. It makes the difficult things they struggle with fun and exciting. They seem to love the opportunities we have to use technology to show me what they have learned. Not only will these Chromebooks provide engaging learning opportunities but also provide accommodations for my students. For example, there is a chrome extension that one of my students uses who is Dyslexic. This extension has influenced her outlook at school, and her confidence with reading. She happier, curious and overall more successful. These types of extensions can change my students school experience. This is one of the main reasons this project is important for my classroom.
