My students having 4 I-Pad Minis will allow them to work independently during center time. They will be able to access apps that will help improve their basic skills in math and reading, specifically fact memorization and phonics and sight word skills. Many apps excite and motivate students to learn while being engaged. Examples include: Rocket Math, Slice It, and Sushi Monster. I -Pad Minis will also help my students to have access to the internet to assist with gathering information for research projects. Utilizing technology in research is a CCSS for 3rd graders. Being so close to Silicone Valley, our classrooms are not at the level of having technology resources to support the advancements that are changing daily. My students need the opportunity to have access to the tools, such as I-Pad Minis, to help them acquire as much knowledge as possible on a regular basis.
