My idea is to provide as many opportunities or tools as possible for these second graders to get a taste of writing and executing code. Getting getting students involved at this young if an age, especially girls, will hopefully excite them to keep learning the skill. We are requesting hands on robots such as Sphero SPRK+, Botley The Coding Robot, and Robot Mouse that will allow students to demonstrate their coding skills will allow them to see their work in action. Computer coding games are fantastic, but watching your thoughts and skills come to life with a moving robot could be the key to lifelong learning with the hopes of more futures in this field! Hook, line, sinker!
