Students must have adequate personal protective equipment to meet the OSHA and NFPA Standards, and of course to be safe during firefighting evolutions. Firefighting boots have been hard to obtain due to all the different sizes that students require and as students graduate through the program the sizes will change year to year. We have been fortunate to obtain used boots, however these boots do not meet the current certifications for personal protective equipment and cannot be used in live fire training scenarios. The addition of these new boots will allow each student to have their own pair of boots, where as we currently have to share some.
