The 2nd-grade students researched, wrote, and illustrated a classroom book about their favorite things for publication. They were provided a rubric of specific research material they should include and then had the ability to include interesting facts they learned while researching. Many of the families cannot afford to purchase their student their own copy of the book. It is my heart that each student has the privilege of receiving their own copy of their published work as a keepsake. Owning their own published work builds self-confidence and becomes a point of reference of achievement when hard work is applied, which has the ability to carry them through challenging academics as well as life circumstances in the future.

About my class
