With these materials, our day will look different. The rug & couch will be used no less than 3 hours each day by little 3, 4, & 5 year olds who are eager to learn what adventures await them as I open a book before them each day. I can't wait to see students quickly moving back to their space on the carpet or couch as we alternate between activities requiring our bodies to move and be still. My students & I love to learn through reading, dancing, singing & drawing. Having a carpet with their own space & an alternate couch space will provide visual cues & accommodations to help all of my students with unique learning needs find success & value in literacy activities & discussions. These pieces of furniture will create a space for quality early intervention in my Preschool Special Education classroom.
