My students work on math kills everyday. Kindergarteners need a strong foundation in number sense and counting and cardinality. Some kindergarteners enter kindergarten already knowing how to rote count, count objects, name and write numbers, measure, and work with number combinations. Other students enter kindergarten without any of these skills. They needs lots of exposure to these math concepts. Hearing math stories and manipulating counters will help build that foundation and understanding. My students will be able to learn at their level with the use of these stories and manipulatives. They will engaged and have fun while learning. Students will be able to pick math stories and manipulatives that interest them to work on their math skills. These materials will give my students the concrete open-ended experiences they need to develop their math skills.
