The students with moderate intellectual abilities, ranging in age from 5-12, grades K-5. There are 22 students altogether who will benefit from this project. Science resources for these children are limited, but their curiosity is immeasurable. This project will significantly improve the students' knowledge and understanding of life cycles. A recent school event, Science Day, opened their minds to the various ways in which our world functions and works. I would like to build on that interest by bringing a hands-on activity to the students. The children will be able to actually see first hand the metamorphosis of a caterpillar to a butterfly. Moderately intellectually disabled students learn best by seeing and doing as their reading and cognitive skills are significantly below the norm. This project will have an enormous impact on the students learning!
