My students have been asking for more books for the the classroom library. Many times we struggle to find good mentor texts in Spanish. Some of the reading strategies I introduce to my students in first grade in making inferences, making predictions, making mental images, asking questions, and synthesizing. Having more mentor texts in my library will allow my students to get more motivated to support them as readers and writers. In the Spanish Immersion schools it is important for the language learners to be exposed to print and language. Having more books in my classroom library will provide a print-rich environment.
