Hello, I have been teaching language arts teacher for 17 years and over the years, I have spent thousands of dollars purchasing novels for the students in my school, even in the old days when they said we shouldn't be teaching novels. The minute I purchase novels for my class I also purchase a huge roll of packing tape and tape the covers of the books to try to make them last longer. Some of my books are now 17 years old and have been read hundreds of times. As a single parent with two children of my own in college I do not have the ability at this point in my life to replace some of my older novels without help. I was granted a class set of thirty of La Linea many years ago, but I would like to have more copies so that more of my students can read it. I have 170 students in total so it is hard to give all students access to the novel when I only have 30 (old, heavily read) copies. I would love to add to this set of novels. I have read the novel several times and I think it is easily accessible for students yet at the same time challenging. I think that many students can relate to the story and the topic is very relative in the current political environment. Everyone should study and read about these issues.
