These fetal pigs will enhance the understanding of the human body for my anatomy and physiology students. Pigs and humans have the same level of metabolism and have similar organs and systems. The students will learn the importance of the body system functions. They have been working diligently all year learning about digestive, respiratory, circulatory, reproduction, immune, and endocrine systems. Many of them have not dissected anything in the past years. Many of the students will be moving on to medical careers where they will need to have knowledge of handling a cadaver. My desire is for each student to witness a snapshot of their own systems by dissecting the fetal pigs.
