Language Arts in middle school can sometimes be a drag. When kids are 11-13 years old, many of them come into my classroom with the assumption that reading is boring. Help to breathe new life into Language Arts with the relevant and exciting Hunger Games. Once we get students to enjoy the content, reading becomes a breeze. If given the right book, students can become more proficient readers- their vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension improves. The Hunger Games is the perfect title to teach my students to love literature. Getting kids hooked on reading brings us one step closer to a more literate society.
