The use of nets, pitching machine, and softballs is almost a daily activity in my games/practice. Using the materials, students come to practice willing and able to work hard. The equipment allows me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy way to give them feedback on how they are hitting or throwing the ball. What becomes a problem is the fact that we have older equipment that is worn down and inefficient. When something goes awry, players know that they must leave practice unsatisfied with their work. Even though they are great about doing this, it is distracting for many of my players who are focusing on what they have to fix. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase player abilities and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their performance on the field. Students will be able to simply focus on their skills and abilities at hand, and not whether their equipment are going fail them. Plus, any interaction with updated equipment will increase their desire to win!
