Many students live on campus in our residential facility but other students get bused in from the inner city. Engagement in the classroom is difficult for our students because their basic needs are not met. Engagement is the key to keeping my students interested and willing to learn. I would love to be able to provide the kids with engaging books that focus on characters going through the same struggles the students face. I also would love to have class sets of markers, crayons and colored pencils for the students to be able to complete projects in a creative way.
