It is difficult to teach high school mathematics without updated calculators. These calculators will help to enhance my vision of reaching all students in the math classroom regardless of race, ethnicity, or socio-economic status. The TI-84 Calculators I am requesting would be used every day during all 6 of my classes and then after school during tutoring. They will be extremely beneficial for my students to use during classwork, projects, or exploration in mathematics. They will be used to graph functions, to calculate numbers, to build tables, and to do all the functions needed in a high school math classroom. I will be able to show the correct calculator functions using my document camera as my students follow along using their TI-84 Calculators. The visual will particularly assist my students who have a limited English proficiency as they follow along during class. I have noticed that embedded technology supports the integration of differentiation in the classroom, but it has to be up-to-date technology. The calculators would be incorporated into each class with a focus on STEM education as I prepare the students for their future in whichever field they choose.
