GT students often start to adapt a fixed mindset at an early age. Understanding concepts that we teach often comes very easily for them and they don't often make mistakes in their daily work. However, this means these students sometimes stop challenging themselves and many decide not to attempt topics or activities they know they may not be successful at the first time. The time we have together in my Challenge Lab is just that -- a challenge. I always want them attempting new things that don't come easily. My goal is to teach them determination, persistence, and finding success through their failures. My GT students would benefit from an exciting new opportunity to challenge their thinking. Breakout EDU boxes would provide a new challenge and level of engagement that would help them grow in their learning. These kits include everything they need to play over 350 games created for the classroom environment. I can already see the additional challenge that my students could take on...writing their own Breakout challenges for younger students. Escape rooms are all the rage now. These boxes would bring that kind of fun excitement into our own classroom!
