Many of my students have limited knowledge about the world that exists beyond their neighborhood. They have never visited other cities and have limited knowledge about how to make real-world connections to what we learn in class. Using technology, I want to expand my students' learning about the world that exists beyond our school. In our STEM classes, we learn many different things such as biomes, civil engineering through earthquake-proof building construction, and we apply this knowledge, like bridge construction, to teach team building. The iPads will be used to take virtual visits to the biomes and other places my students have not been able to visit. The iPads will also allow us to learn about and view earthquakes and its effects and ways to prepare our buildings to withstand the earthquakes. Team building can be documented with pictures we can take with the iPads.
