My project is to provide music for moment and activity in the gym. A new speaker is desperately needed for this to happen as my other one broke. Music is a tool for classroom routine. When we play games, they are moving to the music. When the music is off the game stops. The students freeze and listen for instruction. Students function better when they have consistent routine. Music helps kids/teacher make connections with each other and build relationships. It is also helpful for learning language skills (particularly for ELL students). Music brings joy to the lesson. Students are motivated and energized when music is playing. Music simply brings joy to their otherwise challenging day! Music also connects functions of the left and right brain hemispheres so they work together which makes learning quick and easy. Brain function increases when we listen to music.
