Research shows that students with autism spectrum disorder and emotional and behavioral disabilities, often times have ADHD as well. Each of my students has more than one diagnosis and ADHD is one that causes them the most struggle during times of instruction. My kiddos need to be able to move often during the school day, and times of instruction and learning are no different for them. Flexible seating allows them to be able to wiggle and move, as needed, and therefore focus on their learning and work. This seating will allow them to safely move as often as they need to, without disrupting those around them. I believe that the options of flexible seating I have selected for them will allow them to be able to focus in the classroom as well as be the most successful in their learning.
