If I can offer my students flexible seating in the classroom, I will be opening the door for them to learn at a completely different level than what they are used to. Flexible seating offers students choice, movement, a sense of community, comfort, collaboration, and sensory input. Students learn best when they have some control over their environment. Flexible seating will allow students to have a choice in how they learn and with whom. If my project is funded the students will have the choice to sit on wobble stools, in scoop rockers, on stability balls, and move out of those boring traditional classroom chairs!
