Working with middle school Language Learners presents a unique set of benefits and challenges. In order to achieve the highest level of success in the classroom, it's important to acknowledge these benefits and challenges and understand how they affect student learning. I want to make sure that I have all the materials and resources that I need to make a difference in my classroom. My social studies classroom is one full of simulations, immersions, and reading and listening opportunities. I would like to use the speakers, headphones, and headphone splitters so that my students can hear all kinds of stories from around the world. I want them to understand world history in the English Language and in their native language. In order to do that I must have multiple ways to communicate that language. I will set up different stations in my room that correspond to a certain time in history. Students will be able to do hands-on activities and listen to music, stories, and speeches that support their activities.
