Shakespeare is hard enough. The "NO FEAR SHAKESPEARE" series makes for much more comprehension of the material. Since Shakespeare's words are "translated" into modern English on the RIGHT side of the page, my students will not only better understand the play, but their appreciation for Shakespeare's language will grow exponentially. Donations for this project will help students understand Shakespeare's brilliant use of language, which will only help them improve their own approach to writing. Understanding the impact Shakespeare had on our vernacular will open their eyes to the "power of words." Macbeth also happens to give me, their teacher, a powerful "teachable moment." The play's characters, themes, and story-lines are eerily relevant in today's world.
