Our students are in need of a new listening center in our classrooms. We had 6 portable CD players at the beginning of the year that were old and used. Sadly our last one broke about two months ago and we have not been able to find any at the theft stores, so we have not been able to have our listening center during our center time. Our students really enjoy this center. Our listening center provides students the opportunity to become more independent reads and improves their fluency, story comprehension, and writing skills. Student get to listen to two different story each week, they listen to the story three times and then write a reflection about the story telling us what happened and if they enjoyed the story or not.
