These materials will make a major impact in our classroom! My classroom is the first in our school to go to 100% free choice seating. With the purchase of these items we will have a flexible seating option for ALL of the students. Right now several are still having to sit in traditional desk and chair and we are using a rotation system to use the flexible seats. Additionally, it will allow us to give desks and chairs to the classes that are short desks. The tablets and cases will also be crucial to our classroom. Currently, we do not have enough technology for our classroom. We only have 4 district computers and the rest of our technology has been self-purchased. I have personally purchased or been donated all other technology instituted in our classroom. The system does not have the means to provide enough technology for the students on a classroom level. I have purchased and been donated two iPads and two Chromebooks, while this is very helpful it is not enough to facilitate our need. We are a growing technological society and as a teacher who loves technology, I have instilled the love into my class! Additionally, we use technology to differentiate lessons for the students in our class. The tablets work as a read aloud center, a means to scaffold stories, and make ALL books approachable to ALL levels. Recently, Harry Potter has been a center rotation; we use the iPads as an addition text, audioble verision, and visual story app to make a text that is meant for sixth grade students approachable and understandable to students ranging from ID to gifted! To clarify the story was consumed and understood by students on a reading level of kindergarten to a reading level of seventh grade!
