Our senior class of 2018 is at an exciting point in the year, making big decisions on which college they will attend. To celebrate their acceptances and the final college they choose to attend, we will be hosting a College Signing Day! This is an event where all students who are committed to attending college after high school are invited to celebrate their accomplishments. The resources chosen will provide students with the technology they need to succeed in class at the college level. As many of our students are going to be first-generation college graduates, we want to make this event special. Our students are already thinking about the cost of a college education, and providing these necessities will make it so they have one less thing to worry about. Four students will be given one item that they'll need as a college student. The laptop and tablets are especially vital for students to take notes and record lectures. They will be able to download class resources and refer to notes on these items. Headphones are a necessity for any college student, whether listening to recorded lectures, watching instructional videos while in the library, or listening to music between class, a student will be grateful for them. Many students are concerned about paying for the cost of attending college and are forgetting the big picture: they've made it into a college. This event will take their mind off the worries they have about the college transition. We truly want them to recognize the work they've put in to make it to college, it is an amazing achievement. These prizes will make our college-bound students even more excited for their next journey.
