I am requesting a printed edition of the 2017 World Book Encyclopedia set to use in my classroom. My students ask so many questions during the day that we never have time to delve into all their queries and investigate possible answers. Further, they have very limited research skills and are under the assumption that any question can be answered by Google. We have limited time in the school library, and by the time we get there, our questions have been replaced by others. This set of encyclopedias will help them find the knowledge they seek in a timely manner while honing their research and reading skills. We are losing the luxury of just flipping through a book and discovering something new about the world and our place in it. By having immediate access to encyclopedias, my students can not only answer their current questions, but enjoy the serendipity of learning something else that wasn't even part of their investigation at the start.
