I have a few wiggle seats in my classroom right now and they have really helped some of my kids with their behavior. I would love to bring more options in for the students to use and channel their energy into. Sitting in a classroom all day long is hard for a six year old to do! Some adults can't even do it at work all day, and are offered different seating options. I believe kids should be offered different options as well. All students learn and work best differently. "When I think about how much energy I have, I wiggle it out in my seat and it keeps me from talking," stated one student. These opportunities would really help enable some of my students who may lose focus quickly to be more successful and allow for students to work together in the best learning environment for all. By adding yoga balls and wiggle seats to our classroom, I truly believe that each student will be more engaged throughout the school day. As I think about my students, I truly want the best for them. While some have been affected by elements outside of their control at home, I want school to always be a safe and comfortable environment.
