Living in Silicon Valley comes with an irony- we're in the mecca of technology, yet we lack easy access to technology itself. Teachers are expected to include technology in our instruction on a regular basis, but there are a couple variables that hinder our productivity. Apart from having to deal with slow internet connection, the students in my classroom must use old, damaged chromebooks. Because the track pads on most of the chromebooks are damaged, we need mice to make the chromebooks more accessible. Chromebook use is part of our daily practice, from conducting research to composing essays to completing lessons on instructional software. These inaccessible track pads have made my students' jobs incredibly difficult (mine as well). Obviously, I'd like to remedy that problem; more than that, though, state testing is approaching, and I don't want my students' frustration with their trackpad contribute to an already stressful task. With your donation, my students will have a much easier time to complete their work. They'll be able to be productive without pesky issues with the trackpad.
