Many of my kids are visual learners. Although I have a SmartBoard in my room, it does not allow me the opportunity to clearly model strategies such as annotation. As an English teacher, it is important that I allow students to see and learn the way I mark texts while reading and revising. A document camera will allow me to model reading and revising strategies in a way that all students can see. This would help improve the effectiveness of my instruction and the success of my students. A document camera would also make it easier for my kids to share their work with the entire class. This could include quickwrites, comics, visual responses to reading, and more!
