Our students need tools and fidgets, such as stress balls, calm down bottles, worry stones, pinwheels to help with breathing, and sensory putty to help them manage their behaviors in the classroom. Our coping skills toolboxes will include all of these items and will be in every classroom in our school. Students will be able to utilize these tools and fidgets when they are feeling angry, worried, stressed, sad, or anxious in order to decrease their negative emotions and increase their time spent in the classroom. Your generous donations for this project will provide our students with the resources needed to cope with their emotions at school, without having to leave the classroom, which will allow them more opportunities to learn and be successful. Allowing our students to stay in the classroom while managing their emotions will not only increase their academic learning but will also teach them valuable life skills to carry forward into adolescence and adulthood.
