Students with language delays have difficulties communicating with language. I want to give children a different way to communicate their feelings, through the use of musical instruments and rhythmic activities. Music has also been proven to stimulate the area of the brain that produces language, social skills, and literacy skills. By providing these instruments in a music center, my students would have the ability to choose this area during a substantial portion of the day and allowing my students to communicate through these instruments all day every day! I am hopeful that not only will these students catch up to their same-age peers, but I am also hopeful that this center will help students to outperform past students in their Kindergarten readiness skills!

About my class
