All 7th graders in our building are assigned A Wrinkle in Time for required reading. Reading is one of their greatest areas of deficit, and the graphic novel version of stories allow students to visualize what they read which helps them with comprehension. Since reading is such a challenge, it is often not something they enjoy. However, when reading graphic novels, the student's attitudes and attention and more engaged. Graphic novels build the bridge between their imagination and understanding. Through this book, students will learn figurative language, the five elements of storytelling, and structure. My plans are to pair this novel with the original novel and bridge the gap. Please consider supporting this project. This novel will be used for years to come.
