In 5th grade, we introduce a lot of new vocabulary in our reading. I also encourage my students to use new words or synonyms in their writing to make it way more exciting. So many students do not know how to use a dictionary or thesaurus, so having some decent books will teach them a valuable skill, as well as encourage them to expand their reading and writing skills. Classroom teachers are always in need of copy paper to run a successful classroom, which is why I am requesting some. Our district does not provide us with what we need.
