I have a classroom of 22 students and I believe that providing them with options on where to sit will allow them to enhance their learning. The wobble chairs will be first edition in turning my classroom into a flexible seating classroom. Offering choices for students to sit while they are learning empowers them, it also allows those who find it difficult to sit still to have a place that works better for them than a traditional chair. I want my students to have a place where they can do their best learning. In my classroom I do my mini lessons as a whole group on a big area rug but after that most of the curriculum is practiced and worked on in a workshop model. Five and six year olds naturally wiggle and fidget and these chairs will allow them to do that while they are working and learning. According to the company, KORE, these chairs can strengthen core muscles, the rocking motion can be calming and help to organize the brain, helping the children to pay attention.
