My students love to create, tinker, make, build, design, and invent! Currently we use mostly recyclable materials such as cardboard, string, PVC, paper, etc to design and build solutions to everyday problems like organizing a rack for headphones or an alarm clock snoozer, which can be used to snooze your alarm from your bed! In my class, kids recognize problems in their own lives and the lives of those they care about. Then they think of ways to solve those problems using engineering design. They make 3D sketches of their ideas using precise mathematical measurements, design the device in a CAD program, then build it from recycled materials. These kids are going to change the world with their inventions!
