I am requesting headphones and iPad chargers to allow my students to use computer programs and apps for learning. We have four classroom computers and four iPads. My students enjoy using technology to learn, but the sound can be distracting to other students. Headphones would allow the students to use technology without distracting others. Extra iPad chargers would help ensure that the iPads are charged when students want to use them. I like using computer programs and apps with my students, because they can be tailored to allow the students to work on their own level and at their own pace. Students who need extra assistance can begin at a lower level and students who need a challenge can work at a higher level. These programs also keeps the students engaged in learning. I allow all of my students to use Reflex Math to practice math fact fluency, Reading Eggs to learn reading skills, and Math Seeds to learn math skills. Recently all of my students have started learning to code on Code.org. Some of my lower level students also use Xtramath.org for addition math fact practices and getsights.com for sight word practice.
