The students in this district are overwhelmingly low-income. School is a place where they come to be fed, to be safe, and to enjoy themselves. Because the students usually don't have access to a lot of technology at home, as a teacher, I strive to incorporate as much of these resources into my curriculum as possible. This helps them keep up-to-date on the latest resources available. I also find that comprehension increases when technology is used. The students enrolled in the middle school in which I teach are in 7th and 8th grade. These are difficult ages with many changes taking place.
