We are excited to be introducing students to the science behind life cycles, and what a better and more exciting way to do it then hatching chicks. We need all of the tools and equipment to hatch them from the incubator to a warming shelter and food after they have hatched. Our goal was to create an entire unit where students could visualize and get as hands on as possible with pretend eggs showing various stages of development, educational books, egg candlers, and even an incubator that allows them to look into and watch the eggs each day. We are hoping to inspire not only love and compassion for animals, but also a love for learning and science.
