Having the addition of a light table to my classroom will give my students an exciting way to explore concepts of not only light and shadow, but will give us the opportunity to extend lessons in math and literacy in a hands on way. They will practice their problem solving skills as they share materials, space, and create structures. They will work on their math and fine motor skills as they sort through water beads by color placed in the sensory tray. They will experiment with light and shadow as they place different materials on the light table to observe. The addition, a light table will enhance the learning in my classroom for my current students and for all students that come through my classroom for years to come!
