A new writing center would really benefit our classroom in so many ways! Right now this is the center that is used the least. A new space would instantly scaffold in all areas! Starting with gripping a pencil properly, begin simple writing with scribbles, develop letter and word recognition, writing their names, writing stories and becoming authors and illustrators, to color and shape recognition, to counting and developing organizational skills!!! The desk itself will not only give the children their own space but give them a fun space! The cards allow them to explore with holding a writing utensil which then brings in the Three point finger grip! That leads to writing lines, which follows with writing letters, then recognition and reading!!!! There’s so much learning that can start with a piece of paper, a pencil, and a cozy fun spot to let the imagination use its creativity. We appreciate you all!
