We are a classroom of first graders that integrate our social studies and science units into language arts research stations. We have began our famous American research stations with Martin Luther King, Jr and George Washington. We have independently researched about nocturnal animals and owls. We will continue to learn about Abraham Lincoln as we see that ordinary people, do amazing things to make our world a better place. As we use our computers for this research model, we will be able to grow our own knowledge base that will lead us on the path of becoming world changers. Our classroom motto is, "Those that are crazy enough to believe they can change the world, usually do." We believe that gathering the resources to help us get classroom computers is not that crazy! Having classroom computers would aid in our independent research by allowing us to gather information on our non-fiction topics about animals and famous Americans.
