The amazing thing about the Osmo Learning Systems is the combination of using technology and hands on learning experiences. Students will be playing on the provided Osmo learning apps while simultaneously using the provided manipulatives to further enhance learning and engage the students. The Osmo Genius Kit provides students with letter tiles to work on letter recognition and making words, number tiles for counting, adding, and multiplying, and tangram pieces for spatial/visual thinking and problem solving skills. Donations for this project will help my students in so many different areas and student engagement during learning centers would be at an all time high! Students who are unable to meet with the teacher during our small guided reading groups or during our math centers time, would still be getting a rigorous, yet fun, educational activity to complete until it is their turn to meet with the teacher. With students engaged in the Osmo system, I can feel more confident they are still getting beneficial practice on target skills while I am able to more effectively meet with students to work on reading, writing, and math skills.
