My students are a very diverse group of kids, mostly from low-income families. 100% of our students are on free lunch. We also have many children who have recently immigrated and speak little to no English. I serve all grades, kindergarten through fifth grade. Music is one of the very few areas of their day where everyone is on an equal playing field. We can all dance, we can all sing, no matter the language, and we can all create together. My goal is to give these students the tools they need to navigate the world as a lifelong musicians and appreciate the music of others.

About my class
