My students are currently using student desks and chairs that are 40 years old. My students would definitely benefit from newer desks and chairs. This year I have about 60 fifth grade students for science and social studies. My students will be completing many STEAM labs this year, and the current desks in our classroom do not work well for group projects. Many of the wooden chairs that the students sit in are broken, wobbly, or are missing parts. My students would be able to stay more organized, participate in group projects, and remain focused on their classroom studies with new classroom furniture. Fifth grade students would be able to benefit from this project for years to come.
