For my students, hands-on manipulatives and the practice of drawing models and pictures help them to understand mathematical concepts on a deeper level. This is especially true for our work with fractions and decimals, which is a significant part of our math curriculum. My students' math abilities range greatly, so having small group center rotations during our mathematics block helps students practice a variety of specific skills. The addition of these classroom supplies will help all of my students develop into mathematical thinkers. They will have more opportunities to think critically and problem-solve in small groups and independently.
