I am a cheer coach and one of our jobs as a cheer team is to create spirit posters, positive and encouraging posters and posters to support our sports team. We are constantly having to ask parents to donate supplies because the school can not provide them. Parents donations of art supplies is on top of the already expensive bill of cheerleading. This year alone parents are paying an out of pocket expense of almost $1000. If we can start our season off with supplies, not only will the parents be happy but I know my cheerleaders will be ecstatic. They love making run through banners for the football team. One of our biggest poster making sessions is for our Breast Cancer Awareness Pep Rally. We turn our gym pink with posters. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer last year so this pep rally is really special to me, my squad and the school. We have turned it into a Cancer Awareness Pep Rally where students and teachers can honor those who have been diagnosed.
