Flexible seating has so many benefits for young students. I want our classroom to be welcoming and comfortable for each student. Students will feel empowered and in control of their learning by being given the choice of a variety of seating. Flexible seating gives students the opportunity to make positive choices about what they need to help with their learning. This leads to empowerment and greater problem solving skills. Kindergarteners need to have frequent movement throughout their day. They are busy being writers, readers, artists, engineers and scientists throughout their days of learning. The flexible seating in the classroom such as the requested Wobble Chairs, Stools, and Balance Balls will allow for students to have frequent movement while still staying focused on their jobs. My goal for my students is to create a positive, fun learning environment where they learn to problem solve and collaborate with one another. I believe flexible seating will help me in reaching that goal for my students.
