This is an opportunity for my students to tinker and use real science tools and equipment to understand the abstract microbiology. They need current science technology tools to give them the inspiration and academic language to be excited about science. Looking at cells and understanding how to use microscopes will help the information from science textbooks and articles come alive. Hopefully, they will continue to learn how to work together and be future Nobel scientists making incredible contributions to society. My students will be able to compare the shapes, sizes, and colors of the cells on each of the slides. They will record and make observations to draw conclusions about what they saw.
