My students need the addition of visually animated resources to engage them in the process of learning socialization skills by identifying body language, social cues, and social situations they may encounter in various settings. Your generosity and support to this project will improve the students' ability to identify ways to develop, initiate and maintain relationships as they progress through life. The Social Express is a "program that is based on best practices and programs that feature cognitive behavioral techniques and visual strategies such as social stories, and comic strip conversations. "The activities presented in the software also adhere to the ELA (English, Language, Arts) Common Core Standards." -The Social Express. Although my practices involve modeling, role play, and other evidence-based materials, having the ability to view animated social situations on an iPad would greatly enhance the students' interest and engagement in the process of acquiring such skills.
